What is Team Building? Team building is the process of turning a group of individual employees into a cohesive team, a group of people organized to work together interdependently and cooperatively to meet the needs of their customers by accomplishing their purpose and goals. (Heathfiled, 2016) Policing is said to focus on unifying local, state and federal law enforcement in efforts to reduce criminal activity and eliminating the fear of crime and the victimization of innocent citizens across the country. The value of the nation’s law enforcement aligns with the securities and well-being of its citizens this relates to group building. The principles that have been identified are principles that will motivate and be a catalyst in what is involved in the thinking processes in law enforcement groups. Identifying Goals, Objectives and Rationale In any group building process goals and objectives are generated. This activity allows groups in law enforcement to have an identity that connects to their ideas. Responsibilities of law enforcement is what drives their goals Goals and objectives that may be exercised are: Goal #1: Ensuring the safety of citizens by significantly cutting down on drug-related crime and violence.
